ABOUT US

In 1904, the residents of the Village of Campbellsport organized a volunteer fire department and the first officers were elected. One week later, the constitution and by-laws were voted on and the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department was underway.  The Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department is a team of professionals that serve with excellence, dedication, and pride. The members of the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department are committed to saving lives, protecting property, and improving the quality of life for our residents and visitors, by providing rapid and reliable services in all emergency and non-emergency activities.

Members of the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department excel as firefighters and/or EMT’s.  The department currently provides EMS service at the Advanced EMT level effective May 7th 2012.  In addition the department and members trained to provide specialized rescue as a Rapid Intervention Team, Confined Space Rescue Team, a Dive Team and the department has its own Honor Guard.  The single location station currently houses nine fire trucks, two ambulances, and a 20 foot trailer for off road rescue and fires.Go To Apparatus Page

The Campbellsport Fire Dept. proudly serves an area of approximately 10,000 residents and covers the Village of Campbellsport, Town of Ashford, Town of Auburn, and Town of Osceola. Services of the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department

Fire Suppression

The threat of fire and its devastating effects on life and property are of major importance and priority for the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department. Campbellsport firefighters respond in a rapid and safe manner with occupant safety and rescue of endangered citizens as our most important mission priority.

Advanced EMT Medical Services

Seriously ill or injured people need help fast. With this in mind, the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department has  upgraded its level of care to Advanced EMT to provide additional treatment options and advanced life support to individuals in need.

The Advanced EMT is a mid-level provider of prehospital emergency medical services trained to respond quickly to emergency situations regarding medical issues, traumatic injuries and accident scenes.  The Advanced EMT is not intended to deliver definitive medical care, but rather augment prehospital critical care and provide rapid on-scene treatment.  As Advanced EMT’s we are authorized to provide more advanced medical treatment than an EMT and authorized to provide advanced life support.

Public Education

The Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department has been a leader in providing outstanding public fire safety education at schools, health care facilities, as well as to community groups. Using a variety of teaching methods, firefighters teach fire safety, fire prevention, and fire extinguisher procedures and conduct fire drills in the community. Some of our firefighters are also trained in the juvenile fire setter intervention program. The aim of the program is to prevent the onset of fire-play and curiosity fire-setting behaviors by children and to decrease fire-setting behaviors through the provision of a seamless continuum of prevention, education and treatment.

Our goal is to make our community a safe place in which to live and play. Educating our citizens on things they can do to make their homes and surroundings safe and teaching them what they should do in case of an emergency are very effective ways to achieve this goal. Annual Fundraisers

The Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department holds many fundraisers throughout the year which include a golf outing, sporting clay shoot, and brat fry’s.  The department’s main fundraiser is our annual picnic.  For many years, the department has held the annual firemen’s picnic over the 4th of July holiday. The first picnic was in 1908. The picnic was originally called the July 4th Homecoming. The only year in which the picnic was not held was 1914 due to the war.  Each fundraiser is used for specific items the department needs.  Go To Fundraisers Page
