After a little over 1 year of intense practicing at the tower some doors need replacement. The two doors on the burn room have seen much better days, the parts of the door were separating due to glue melting from the intense heat. The burn rooms metal sheeting has survived a tremendous amount of heat and is still in fairly good condition after surviving two flashovers. Through the last not quite two years the tower has gotten a lot of use at almost every fire practice conducted by CFD go to Photo Gallery. The tower has also recently been used for training by the Kewaskum Fire Dept (see Pictures). The tower gets used for general fire training and fire prevention to Rapid Intervention Team training. Many different uses for fire attack, search and rescue, to just working out, confined space rescue, rappelling, and ventilation. CFD sets up the tower with furniture to resemble items found in a fire in a residential structure. If you have old furniture you want to get rid of call the fire station @ 920-533-5266 or email cfdwebmaster@verizon.net. During training a fire is generally lit in the burn room and let the smoke go into the tower resembling a smoke filled house. CFD burns actual household materials such as couches, chairs, & tables to make the smoke and scenarios as realistic as possible.

The training tower for the Campbellsport Fire Department was an idea and development that began back in 2003. After the department decided that a training tower would be built, plans and drawings were completed and the fundraising campaign began. Several fundraisers, which include our annual picnic and golf outing along with private donations, made the training tower possible. No tax dollars were used in the construction of the training tower.
After several years of fundraising, construction finally began in the spring of 2006. Several businesses donated to the construction of the facility along with a fair portion of the work being completed by members of the fire department. When it wall all said and done the project came in roughly $13,000.00 under budget.
The training tower is a three-story facility with access to the roof. There is also a burn room off one side to conduct live fire training. A sloped pitched roof is also included to provide ventilation training. This facility will provide the Campbellsport Fire Department as well as any department in our area with an endless amount of training and evolution opportunities to ultimately provide a better service to the communities we protect.
