8/4 morning CFD responds to Scenic Dr. for a detached garage struck by lightning. Upon arrival of Engine 402 there was small amount of fire on top of the car and in the interior of the car. The fire is believed to have spread to the car from the attic area or on the trusses which was used for storage. Many trusses were charred  and did show fire extension, the fire is believe to snuff itself out possibly due to lack of oxygen. CFD only extinguished the fire in and on the car. CFD remained on scene overhauling the storage area on the trusses checking for any further fire extension. Kewaskum FD responded with automatic mutual aide with one truck but were not used. one member found out the boots aren't waterproof when the water level is higher than the height of the boots

8/3 CFD participates in the Eden FD parade. Ambulance 400, Ladder 406, and Truck 409 with the Kubota RTV were in the parade. Several CFD members marched as well as the CFD Honor Guard.

8/2 2 CFD members participated in the Eden FD arm wrestling tourney @ the picnic. Both members placed in arm wrestling but had to leave early for a call.

7/28 CFD receives new Tanker 404. Two members went to US Tanker in Burlington to pickup our new tanker. The new truck is squeezed in the back row of trucks at the station. The radio is hooked up and waiting for striping and lettering, and fittings and other accessories. Everything else is fully operational. The truck is ready for use if need be. See Pictures

7/24 CFD was paged out in the early morning hours @ 01:06 to a report of a possible house fire. While en-route Ladder 406 was updated that officer on scene reported the house was fully engulfed. The house was vacant for about two years and is a total loss. The fire is under investigation by CFD, Wisconsin State Fire Marshal, After The Fire Investigators, and Fond du Lac County Sheriffs Dept. Fire Investigation unit. CFD remained on scene for 15 hours and was assisted @ the beginning by Kewaskum FD for automatic mutual aide, Beechwood, Cascade, and Eden FD for water only.

7/23 CFD members begin practicing for the St Cloud Softball Tourney. Maybe they can win more than one game and be able to actually play on Sunday for the first time in a while.

7/12 CFD donates the money collected in the tip jar at the CFD picnic to the Bill Beck Fundraiser. Bill was a patient of our ambulance when he fell while building a house for his family. Now he is in a wheel chair but is gaining feeling back in his legs. 

7/3 & 7/4 CFD holds annual 4th of July Picnic, lots of entertainment, food constant excitement. All proceeds from 2008 Picnic go towards park improvement.

6/17 CFD responds to a fire under a trailer home. Upon arrival of first firefighter on scene insulation was smoldering under the trailer started by soldering a water pipe. Some fire burnt through the floor under the kitchen sink but the trailer was still habitable. CFD removed skirting and all smoldering insulation from under the trailer and extinguished the small fire under the sink. Minimal fire damage was reported. CFD was on scene for less than a hour. 6/13 CFD responds to a mutual aide request for the City of Fond du Lac Fire Dept. Ambulance 401 responded at midnight and Ladder 406 and Rescue 408 responded at 06:00 to assist in shutting off gas, rescuing and evacuating citizens from flooded areas. All units were back in service by late afternoon.

Tickets for the CFD gun raffle are out for distribution. Proceeds from the gun raffle will be used for purchasing our second Bullard Thermal Imaging Camera. See any member for tickets or call the fire station.
